Poem: Question Mark - 2

On those indifferent nights, when my mind is ruled by your memories,
Tell me, why do such nights stretch endlessly?
Why tell me, does the dawn of my release still not arrive?
You showed not a drop of mercy, Ohe deceitful betrayer of love!
Yet why tell me, does my aching heart still weep for you?

You left me in an unwanted separation,
And made me taste the famine of love.
Tell me girl, why did you tighten around your lover’s neck,
The noose of parting for the crime of love?
What satisfaction did you gain in return, tell me?
Do you now dwell in the comfort of your desired joy?

Love’s illusion and your memories scorch both my mind and heart.
Tell me girl, you used to say you loved me,
Then why did you reveal, in the end, your merciless self?
You will belong to someone someday,
Then tell me, what harm would it have done if you had been mine?
What loss would you have suffered?
Had you not committed such a monstrous deceit in love’s name?

You taught separation to the very one,
Who still searches every step of your path for blossoms?
Every moment, day and night.
I’ll leave behind one final question,
What did you gain by abandoning that innocent man,
And turning his body and soul into your enslaved captive?
