The Power of Words
They say what sounds beautiful must be good.
Yet people use the power of those words to wound.
The very art of speaking sweetly is chosen as the tool to deceive someone.
Unworthy
Open the ledger of who breaks others, the unworthy top the list.
To break someone, you need no spine.
A spine-less tongue delivers the cruellest blows,
and shatters a person more fiercely than steel.
Regret - 3
How many times did you say, “I love you.”
Yet you did not love.
If you had truly loved, how could you leave?
When you walked away, did your own heart not burn too?
Love Means Deception
What’s taken by asking is pity.
But love, love is meant for two.
You told me you loved me.
Yet love was far away, I didn’t even receive your pity.
Was your “I love you” then a lie?
When you made love an insult, you taught me that love means being deceived by your words.
Forgetting
The more I promise myself I will forget you,
the more I find you returning to my mind.
Still I say aloud,
“I have forgotten you.”
But if I had truly forgotten,
how could I remember that I’d forgotten you?
