Journey of Life

Even the Little Is Lost

They said, happiness lies in being content with little,
and I accepted it.
But the more I trained myself to settle for less,
the less I received.
And one day, even that little stopped coming to me.
That’s when I realized,
those who learn to be content with little
don’t even get that little.

Foolishness

If I had only fallen in love with you,
I swear by God, you could never have neglected me like this.
Long before that, I would have pulled myself away from you.
But alas my greatest foolishness was this,
I got trapped in your spell of affection.

Memories

How easily you forgot me,
as if I had never been a part of your life.
Yet there isn’t a single place I know
where our memories don’t exist.

Beauty

Do you know? Everyone’s life has its own beauty.
The flower’s beauty is in falling,
or in being tucked behind a lover’s ear.
The river’s beauty is in its erosion,
the rainbow’s beauty in its many hues.
Your beauty lies in completeness,
and mine lies in the emptiness your absence creates.

Journey of Life

On a long-distance bus,
the next stop is nearer than death itself.
And we are but passengers,
endlessly traveling in this bus called Earth,
searching for an end.
The only difference is this,
in a bus, we choose our destination,
but in the journey called life,
the destination itself decides
where and when each passenger must step down.
