What Remains, What Does Not

Must Forget

I must forget you, erase your name,
erase every memory of you this time, for real,
yet in trying to forget, I remember you again.
Cling tighter still, in the name of forgetting,
you find so many excuses to stay within my mind,
tell me, even after this, how can I forget you?

Worthless - 2

Love means getting lost yet finding the way back,
love means waiting,
love means forgiving and still staying.
And yet you say you love me,
but seek reasons, even in trifles,
how to leave,
how to build distance.
At the slightest excuse, you vanish away,
tell me, why so many pretexts?
Your eagerness itself shows,
I hold no worth in your life at all.

What Remains, What Does Not

In the end, nothing remains!
Not people, not relations, not rights or communication,
not even the vows made holding hands.
Only illusion, regret and sorrow remain.

The Control of Time

Once we used to say,
“We were born only for each other.”
But now, with only the gap of time,
we think instead,
“Had we never met, we’d both be better off.”
Do you see how much time controls?
With time, even wishes, dreams, and thoughts change.

Be Mine Still

If you cannot be my joy,
then be my sorrow, and give me sorrow still,
become pain and keep me restless all day,
become fever and burn me all night.
Yet do not leave me,
do not belong to another,
that weight of regret I could never bear.
Even if as sorrow, be mine still.
