Mask - 2

Plea

The dreams I nurture in my heart,
I place their plea before You, Ya Allah.
I know You are the Best Rewarder,
I know You never break a righteous dream.
You are the Finest Judge,
You alone know what this restless heart desires.
For apart from You,
There is none who can soothe this heart.

Waste

At the beginning of love we say,
“Why didn’t I meet you sooner?”
But as time passes, people change,
And love’s sweetness turns bitter.
In the end we regret,
“If only we had never met,
How much better it would have been,
At least I wouldn’t suffer thinking of you.”
And by the time we realize this,
We have already wasted the most precious time of our lives,
Perhaps becoming numb to feelings themselves.

Mask - 2

Yet I never let even a trace of sorrow
Show upon my face.
I wear a mask of joy,
Smiling always.
As if this world were a grand stage,
And I, a seasoned actor.
As if within its dictionary,
The word “sorrow” never even existed.

Provision

Love too is provision,
Just as food and health are provision.
And He has declared,
“No one shall taste even a grain
Beyond what is destined for them.”
So when you and I share no portion of fate,
Even if I forced you to stay,
Tell me, what gain would there be?

Acceptance

The most powerful strength hidden within man is the strength to accept.
Once a person gains this gift,
It no longer matters who stays in their life,
And who departs,
Who loves, who hates or who neglects.
For none of it can shake them anymore.
