Poem: Do not remain silent any longer

All the madness in my ways,
every scrap of it wants your love, longs to touch your feet.
All the faults I carry, large and small,
they beg you, wipe them clean with a kiss upon my brow,
or else broaden your two sheltering hands.

Day and night my reckless deeds pursue me,
and they, too pray only for our meeting.
If you accept, they will find release,
they will fall into rest, they too will be granted leave.

I want you to be mine, whether anything else remains or not.
Make me pure by the touch of your love.
With your kiss, sweep away every mad behavior, every fault, every swarm of my carelessness.

This restless heart seeks no other consolation,
it seeks only your company, your union.
Give it the refuge it returns to again and again,
let it ripen in your shelter.
Now answer me, do you love me?
Do not remain silent any longer.
