Poem: Do Not Remain Only In My Prayers

Your eyes hold a gravity greater than any black hole, pulling me endlessly,
so I run to you, crossing deserts of sand and illusions of mirage.
What intoxication drives me still?
Seek girl, seek the reason, open your heart and soul.

I have seen that wondrous forehead above your kazal-dark eyes,
its radiance feels like the dawn of my own private morning.
Since then, I’ve been struck down, wounded by your love.
So give me a place, open the doors of your heart.
Tell me girl, why do you still make excuses?
This Beduyin is falling deeper, defeated in your love.

Just as a thirsty traveler longs for a single drop of water,
so do I long for the shelter of your endless love.
Like a beggar I wait at the doorway of your heart,
do not turn me away girl, do not turn me away.
For if I lose you once, I do not know if I will ever be born again.
Stay within my destiny, do not remain only in my prayers.
